Ovation 2012 : A Day for the Arts

Admission is FREE and you're invited! 10:00am - 2:00pm, Saturday, February 4th on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Live performances from the Ovation stages, special demonstrations and interactive booths and displays will bring Main Street to life with the Arts.

 

SDA students will be performing favorites from last years Spring Showcase and excerpts from The Snow Child at 1:30pm. Stop by our booth to say hello and pick up information about our upcoming Summer Programs and Camps!

Summer Dress Code

Please note: No split sole ballet shoes are to be worn in any grade level. All students attending classes must have their hair securely pulled back into a bun, with bobby pins and hair net.

Petite Steps: Students may wear any leotard or tutu dress they wish as long as it is not distracting to them or other students. All skirts must be attached. Pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes are to be worn for all classes. Tights are optional.

Pre-Primary/Primary-Advanced I: Students may wear any solid color leotard they wish. Pink ballet shoes (Bloch brand preferred), tan jazz shoes, contemporary shoes (optional), and black tap shoes are to be worn. Pink tights must be worn for all classes. Black Capezio shorts are optional for elective classes.

 

Fall/Spring Dress Code

All Uniforms and dance attire can be purchased through Sarasota Dance Academy.

Students are expected to adhere to the Academy dress code for all dance classes. Skirts, ballet sweaters, knitted shorts, etc. are permitted only at the discretion of each teacher. No split sole ballet shoes are to be worn in any grade level. All female students attending classes must have their hair securely pulled back into a bun, with bobby pins and hair net. Petite Steps Ballet/Tap: Petite Steps Tutu Dress – #PS10. Depending on a child’s comfort level, students may wear pink tights or thin socks rolled at the ankle (pink or white). Bloch pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.

Primary-Intermediate/Advanced Ballet: Capezio Regulation Leotard - #GR15. Pink tights and Bloch pink ballet shoes. (Primary: Pink, Grade I: Lavender, Grade II: Light Blue, Grade III: Royal Blue, Grade IV: Navy Blue, Major Syllabus: Black).

Elective Classes (Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary): Paired with student’s regulation leotard, students may wear Black fitted shorts or black capri length leggings. Tan jazz boots may be worn for Jazz and/or Hip Hop classes. In some cases (depending on the teacher) students may wear sneakers for Hip Hop classes. Black tap shoes are to be worn for all tap classes. In more advanced levels, students should wear a more substantial lace up tap shoe. Contemporary Shoes are optional for all levels.

 

 

 

Mommy & Me, Petite Steps & Creative Movement: (Ages 3-4)

Students may wear any leotard that they would like as long as it is not distracting. All skirts must be attached. Bloch pink ballet shoes and/or black tap shoes. Tights at this level are optional. Hair should be worn and secured off the face, a classical ballet bun is preferred.

 

Beginning Level I: (Ages 5-7)

Light Blue Mirella Camisole Dress, Capezio Stretch & Hold Tights and Bloch pink full soled ballet shoes. Black Bloch Tap Shoes.

 

Beginning Level II (Ages 7-9)

Pale Pink Mirella Camisole Leotard, pink Capezio Stretch & Hold Tights. And Bloch pink full soled ballet shoes. Black Bloch Jazz and/or Tap Shoes.  Black jazz pants, capris or shorts may be worn for Jazz and Tap Classes.

 

Intermediate Level I (Ages 9-11)

Garnet Mirella Camisole Leotard, pink Capezio Tights and Bloch full soled pink ballet shoes. Black Bloch Jazz and/or Tap Shoes. Nude Capezio Contemporary Shoes. Black jazz pants, capris or shorts may be worn for classes (excluding Ballet).

 

Intermediate Level II (Ages 11-14)

Royal Mirella Camisole Leotard, pink Capezio Tights and Bloch full soled pink ballet shoes. Black Bloch Jazz and/or Tap Shoes. Nude Capezio Contemporary Shoes. Black jazz pants, capris or shorts may be worn for classes (excluding Ballet).

 

Advanced Level I (Ages 11-14)

Black Mirella Camisole Leotard, pink Capezio Tights and Bloch full soled pink ballet shoes. Black Bloch Jazz and/or Tap Shoes. Nude Capezio Contemporary Shoes. Black jazz pants, capris or shorts may be worn for classes (excluding Ballet).
